Talula Does The Hula

As a writer I need to come up with names that readers will remember. That are fun and catchy. But as a parent, I always thought it was my responsibility to come up with a name for my child that had tradition to it, or that fit the personality of said child...

So can someone explain to me how the parents of a 9-year in New Zealand thought their daughter should have the name - Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii - yes, that was her legal name. That is until a judge made the girl a ward of court so they could change her name.

Sex Fruit

I say if these parents want these names for their children, then they should take the names for themselves...Let John Smith become Fish and Chips and Jane Doe can be Sex Fruit, but do not make an innocent child deal with the name calling and embarrassment of having such a name...
