It is always recommended that you write down your affirmations. This keeps you from trying to remember what you want and it will keep you focused. Make them very specific.
Some tips to writing the perfect affirmation...
- Make sure you keep them about yourself. You can't have an affirmation about someone else. Affirmations are for you and want you want. Visualize what YOU want.
- Make them as if they have all ready happened. Don't say "I can/want to be happy"...instead you want to say, "I am happy"...You are affirming what you want...not wishing for it...
- You might be a writer, but your affirmations should not be a novel. Make them short, one or two sentences. Keeping them simple will keep you on track.
- You can't be vague with affirmations. You can't just say, being happy...you need to say, I am happy with my life...
- Don't just make an affirmation for one area of your life. If you aren't happy at home, you won't be happy at work and vice-versa...so make an affirmation for every aspect of your life, career, personal, social, etc.
- Make your affirmations real...saying you want to be a millionaire in a year and you have no money in your bank accounts, isn't realistic...even if you are playing the lottery...grin...If you want to be a millionaire when you retire, then you have to write your affirmations to get you to that point...you will need to affirm each step that you see it will take to retire a millionaire.
- Keep you affirmations...hush, hush...You don't want to share your affirmations and I know this sounds strange, but you don't want other who have opinions (and we all know everyone has one) to step on your affirmations...These are what you want for your life, so no one else can get you there but you...so don't allow others to take them away from you. Share your goals if you want because goals are just lists that might get you to where you want to be....Affirmations are statements that give you the things you want.
Happy Writing!

I always try to remember it takes eight times as many positive comments to outweigh one negative comment.
