RAK ideas - Day 1

Today is the start of Random Acts of Kindness Week, so I thought I would share a few ideas to help get you started:

  1. For those of us stuck in the snow of 2010 (with a little 2009 snow thrown in), we are ready for spring...so why not purchase some daisies, or carnations and hand out one long stemmed flower to people at work, or at the drive-up at the bank, or in your neighborhood. Go to the Library and hand them out to those hardworking librarians who help us find all those great books that we might overlook otherwise...
  2. Make some soup/chili in a crock pot (of course) and give some to your neighbors or take it to the police station, the fire station, etc. and let your local heroes know how much your appreciate them.
  3. Buy a teddy bear and donate it to the fire department. They use them to help calm children after a fire...
  4. Make (or buy) some cookies/muffins and take them to your child's school as a way to show your appreciation for the teachers.
  5. Gather up all those old cellphones you have around your home (and check with your neighbors to see if they will donate their old cellphones). Once you have collected them donate them to a shelter for abused women. In some areas, you can take them to the police station and they will make sure all the information is cleared off the phones. They give these phones to the abused women to use in an emergency.
These are just some suggestions...I would love to hear your ideas! Hugs...

I would be knitting - probably hats to hand out to kids who lost theirs sledding.
